My photography style is photojournalistic - an approach that implies the use of a certain style of bluntness where candid images tell a story. I think people, children especially, are so interesting that to create beautiful images, you simply need to capture them as they really are; this is the beauty of the every day.
My professional background is actually in psychology but I find that photography allows me to use similar skills. I am mostly self-taught and have been taking pictures since 2001. I build rapport with families and children easily, put adults at ease and recognize the strength in people.
The pictures I treasure the most are the ones that 'happened', not the ones that were posed. I admire photographers who use natural light, who blend in when taking pictures and who create a joyful experience. I approach photography with a specific goal in mind - to have fun. The pictures speak for themselves.
